Friend of mine says Turner Industries own 70% of the general maintenance contracts in Louisiana.
I call bullshite.
People that work in the field, who's the general contractor at your plant?

I would think Turner. They certainly own a lot, but maybe it’s changed a little since COVID.

Turner at the Exxon plants is the maintenance contractor but there are several other contractors working in Exxon every day. Maintenance workers make a good bit less than the other non-maintenance contractors but they tend to have more stable jobs long term

In construction the term general contractor is usually applied to commercial construction. In industrial settings plants are built by industrial contractors. But in industrial settings admin buildings, labs, maintenance buildings etc. are built by GCs.
Plant maintenance is also performed by industrial contractors.
Turner, and Performance are examples of large industrial contractors.

I would say Turner is > 50%.
They were ran out of our plant. We have Zachry now. They are close to getting shown the door also.

Lane Grigsby probably has most of it behind the scenes somehow. He's got so much political power at this point with his LABI bullshite he probably gets any contract he wants.

Turner, Cajun, MMR, Performance, etc
Some are more specialized than others but you should get the idea. I know MMR handles instrument maint at Formosa for example

It was and had a lot of good responses.
I don’t feel like searching for it though

That is too broad of a question. Like someone else said, industrial construction is broken down by the type of work. For example, I work for an industrial civil contractor in TX. We are technically a GC but we specialize in Civil. Others said MMR and Triad. They are I&E companies. Brock/Brand are soft craft companies. Turner and performance would generally be known as general mechanical. I would not argue that Turner probably has over 50% if maintenance contracts and that would include TX as well as LA. I do know Zachry has a whole bunch also. Just depends on the plant and/or units in the plant. Each unit can have their own maintenance bunch and who that is can vary from unit to unit.

General Contractor is a term for commercial building not industrial.
I don't know but Turner is a big boy nationwide in plant maintenance and turnarounds. They did lose the maintenance contract for Citgo in Lake Charles a year or two ago.
On capital construction, Bay Ltd is a really big boy, they get whatever they want for Valero and ChevronPhilips Chemical. Then again, the Berry family owns a big chunk of Valero stock and helped finance their change from being a local Texas natural gas producer to refining.
Lawrence Berry's ranch at Rosharon is fun with skeet, trap, and live pigeon shoots attended by execs from most major refining companies, along with both Dem and GOP elected officials.
