Why does Frito Lay have both Ruffles and Wavy Lays?

They serve similar purposes, and taste similar.

Because both products make money.

Because your wife is fat and buys both.

Why does AB offer Bud Light, Mic Light, and Mic Ultra? They all serve the same purpose and taste similar.

Why are there 10 different cuts of frozen potatoes in the freezer aisle?

Ruffles are more expensive than wavy lays. And taste much better, IMO. Better for dipping, as well.

Ruffles can handle the Dip

For lazy chefs or Someone who finds a ginsoo too complicated

The same reason all the major media outlets are owned by the same investors... To give idiots the illusion of choice.

Well, Ruffles are for the folks that prefer ridges in their chips while Wavy Lays are there for those that like a less aggressive texture.
That being said as much as I like Ruffles I'll usually go with Wavys when it comes to packing a lunch for work. As good as they are bringing Ruffles to a meal is about like bringing an ex-girlfriend to one, they're just gonna hang around all damn day afterwards.

I love me the Kettle cooked over Lays especially the Miss Vickie's Jalopeno with a Shiner .

I guess I never really sat there and compared the 2. Like someone in the office had wavy lays today and I just had to pose the question to the OT Mensa members
