Why is Albertsons so damn expensive?

I could understand if it was a nice store, but holy hell they are high. $3.59 for a 16 oz Ken's dressing while a 24 oz is only $2.89 at other stores. .89 more for a freaking can peas that costs less than a dollar anywhere else.

That's a store in Louisiana, right? I seem to remember it but I've lived elsewhere for so long that it's hard to recall. Sorry I couldn't help.

Most grocery stores are only a good value if you shop the sales.
Walmart will beat just about all of them for all of your shopping unless you are exclusively buying sale items.

Yeah, I usually go to rouses or super 1, just went there cause it was closer. Don't see why anyone would go there. Hell, you can get beer cheaper at a convienence store.

Wait until you step foot inside a Tom Thumb or Whole Foods...

I got a 40lb box of cat litter the other day at Albertsons for $12

I bet you drink your cat's sweetwater, Billy.

I stop there occasionally and hate everything about it. Back in the 80's it seemed to be a good store but now they have 2 different prices for everything...why should someone with an albertsons account or whatever it's called get a discounted price?

I lived where the only store I could get to easily was an Albertson's.
I am going to be moving soon. Albertson's may be a step up from what I can get to.
rural mountain area.

I shop at albertsons out of convenience. They are opening a super 1 soon that I will check out.

All I can add to this is that their fried chicken has gone down the shitter compared to what they were cooking up in the 90's.

Albertsons has nice stores if you live in a nice community.
Sorry you live in poorville.
I like that Albertsons gives you their discounts without having to carry a VIP card on your keychain or punching in your phone number.
They aren't a top tier grocery store but they are better than Food Lion, Winn Dixie, IGA, Fiesta, etc

Speaking of Albertsons, I stopped in for a six pack last night and as I'm exiting my vehicle a big black dude is hauling arse straight at me, being trailed by several cops yelling and running, and multiple other units pulling up to the store.
For a second I thought I was fixing to get shot or carjacked, I went into flight mode and ran behind another vehicle.
The guy ran into the grocery store and was tackled/arrested in front of the cash registers.
A bunch of Starbucks gift cards fell out of his pocket, apparently he robbed the Starbucks across the parking lot, wrecked his getaway vehicle while being chased, then ran into Albertsons for cover.
A couple of older Mexican ladies saw me run and were laughing their asses off at the scared gringo for taking cover.

Shopped at an Aldi store last week in East Texas. Not any high-class place like whole foods but the prices were on point. 0.33 mangos, 2.88 5lb oranges or grapefruit, .99 pineapple, 1.49lb skinless breast. No sales tax on food in Tx either
Like the cart system they use too. They don't want to pay anyone to round up carts so they charge a quarter to borrow a cart. After you bring the cart back you get your money. Although half the people give their carts to people entering the store as some sort of pay-it-forward movement.
