Doesn't St. George Island have one? Not sure if that area is part of the panhandle though as it's farther east

There's one in Mobile. Is that not close enough?

I live here. There have been rumors if one in Freeport. My understanding is logistics. There is no easy way in and it’s not on the way to anything else. 20 minute drive off of I10 to Freeport. I guess they could one near P-Cola.

There may not be that much trash there, but that doesn’t mean it’s not incredibly infuriating to shop there.

We have the worlds smallest Costco. Its easier than shopping in any of the grocery stores.

quote:

“Just now on the phone, actually, a woman was saying, ‘Yeah, that’s the smallest damn Costco I’ve ever seen,’” he said. “She’s comparing it to the Seattle and Anchorage ones. … It’s one of the smallest, from what I’ve heard.”

But is it the smallest Costco in the world?

“As far as I can tell, that is true, yes,” said Costco Wholesale Assistant Vice President Kevin Green.

You never know. Desantis may have some ideological beef with them…

Why is Costco worried about people sharing cards, you gonna spend 300-500 in the place anyway

It is the paid membership that keeps the shrinkage down and allows for the pricing.

Costco breaks even on their goods.

Not true at all. I sell to Costco, they definitely aren’t selling it at wholesale.

They try to have 14-16% margin, blended. Typical retail margins by comparison are 30-40% and heavily promoted items can be 20% or so.

Retailers like dollar general want to make 50-55%, for the record. Very challenging as a vendor.

There aren’t that many big towns besides Pensacola. Plus people don’t want bulk on vacation.

The population between Escambia and Santa Rosa County is 500k-600k …it can handle a Costco - i mean, Tallahassee has one and it’s way smaller

I’d be pissed if Freeport got one before Pensacola did!

Memberships are pure profit. That's how they make a ton of their annual revenue and the margins are huge.
They also don't have a shoplifting problem.

When I was a kid in PCB in the 90s The Carousel was the only grocery store in town.

Huh? You don't remember Food World?

Was going to say I lived in PCG in the late 90s and don't ever remember going to The Carousel. I was out towards the pass and guess I mainly shopped at the WM supercenter. I have lived alot of places since then, so don't really recall.

Yeah we went to PCB every single summer when I was a kid back then. Don't remember The Carousel but Food World was always our second stop after checking into a hotel and eating lunch at Montego Bay.

Is Tallahassee in the panhandle? It's kind of in the transitional area. There is one in Tallahassee.

I would pay a thousand a year not to have to see poor, the obese, and welfare queens who let their children ride the handicap carts.
