If there is a dead tree that looks like it will fall on the road in BR, submit a request to 311. They will take it down if they deem it a hazard to the road. Yes, I have done this.

That's what arborist call a widow maker. There are dead trees like that all over the place since the drought.

It’s ABC Philadelphia on the second video posted…that answer your question for you?

You can see the dead tree on Google maps from July last year. Looks like it’s already starting to lean a bit.

That is how a good friend of mine died and left his fiancé paralyzed.

The were both Sheriff's and in a funeral precession for another fallen officer and a bad storm or something blew through and the tree landing on his patrol car.

It happened to me 10 years ago in BR on Nicholson.

No one got out of their car to assist or check on me. I was suffocating in the car, it compressed me like an accordion. I had compression fractures on 6 vertebrae…. and injured myself further climbing out of a door and asking the truck in front of me to call an ambulance. They didn’t even roll their window down…I sat down in the middle of the road and went into shock soon after.

Emergency responders couldn’t believe I was in the vehicle and escaped by myself, my only visible external injury was glass in my hands where the windshield wrapped around the steering wheel.

Wow. Your back fine now?

This really shouldn't surprise anyone. Nobody cares about anyone but themselves these days

I've seen so many videos of terrible wrecks where people just keep driving. It's a shame where we are as a society.

Yeah that tree is clearly dead. They should have chopped it down sooner.

Why bother when you can just let it come crashing down when it’s good and ready?

In all seriousness, as a parent, the thought of a couple kids being in that backseat makes my blood run cold.

I’m more amazed the person behind her never got out of their car and the baw in the truck immediately started turning around

That tree was dead for a long time. That thing exploded, live trees don't do that when they fall.

I don't think it was drought. It looks a lot like pines killed by the spreading Pine Bark Beetle infestation that is killing (duh) pine trees all over this continent.

A niece remembers when her Father planted pine trees along a fence line at their home. She inherited the house with the row of almost dead pine trees and got to pay many thousands to have them taken down before they landed on her (or the neighbors' house.) (Finding an insured company that will handle the danger of cutting down a dead tree was memorable and miserable.)

If she had pulled up to a normal distance behind the driver in front of her, the tree probably misses her entirely

Better than some, but I’m never going to be close to 100%. All that I can do is deal with it, keep moving, and be thankful that I’m alive.

An Officer at the scene found me in the hospital to share pictures and told me I needed to go to “Church or a casino” as soon as I get out as I was the luckiest person they had ever seen.
