There are plans for a thread Sunday night for NXT 2.0 not-TakeOver WarGames

But there are some pretty big NXT notes before Sunday's event.

A) The Roderick Strong/Joe Gacy Cruiserweight Championship match (Gacy is definitely > 205 lbs) Sunday night is reportedly a way to either rebrand or altogether get rid of the WWE/NXT Cruiserweight Championship. Another of HHH's babies being discarded by Vince.

B) Beth Phoenix announced Monday night on social media (shortly after the Edge/Miz & Maryse segment) that she is leaving the NXT commentary desk with Sunday's WarGames PPV being her final show. She says she's doing it so she can spend more time with family... but is that the real reason? Naturally, the rumor mill immediately started spinning that this will eventually lead to an Edge/Beth vs. Miz/Maryse match.

Unless they have silently re-signed with NXT over the last few weeks... Sunday is currently expected to be the final time we see Johnny Gargano & Kyle O'Reilly in a NXT ring as both of their contracts are expected to expire very, very soon, if not immediately after Sunday's show goes off the air. (KOR to AEW to reform OG Undisputed Era & feud with the Elite please).

A couple of big ROH names have been spotted backstage at AEW shows recently... undoubtedly looking to get work with the ROH shut down and re-imaging looming in the next week or 2. Among those names - previously mentioned tag team icons in ROH... 12-time tag team champions Mark & Jay Briscoe - former ROH Television Champion Jonathan Gresham (who everyone wants to see either feud or team with Bryan Danielson as he's supposed to be a technical wrestling savant) - & former ROH World Champion Mark Taven

Taven could be an interesting get as Taven & Adam Cole were together in a stable in ROH called The Kingdom with Mike Bennett (Mike Kanellis in WWE) which was near ROH's peak in popularity in the early to mid 2010s. Cole has been in a stable with like everyone in wrestling.

Matt Hardy was also once a member of The Kingdom... and if Bennett were to emerge in AEW... maybe Maria Kanellis-Bennett will show up too

WWE Friday Night Smackdown comes from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

The Beast Incarnate's suspension has been lifted and he is back tonight. Hopefully, Paul E. did the smart thing and was a good member of the Chosen People by taking off work tonight to celebrate the last Friday of Hanukkah so he won't be around when his Beast and his Tribal Chief meet up tonight.

The Bar breaks down as Sheamus takes on Cesaro in the clash of 1 of the better solely heel tag teams in recent memory.

And speaking of tag teams in WWE... 1 of the best tag team feuds in WWE history continues to ramp back up again as New Day's King Xavier Woods takes on Jey Uso of The Usos.

AEW Rampage comes from the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga.

The AEW TNT Championship is on the line as "The Spanish God" Sammy Guevara defends against "The Premiere Athlete" and professional ab-counter Tony Nese.

In a change from the original promotion... FTR takes on Death Triangle's PAC & Penta El Zero Miedo. I believe this was supposed to be 2/3 falls between FTR & the Lucha Bros for the AEW Tag Team Titles... but Rey Fenix is currently out of action. FTR & the Lucha Bros are supposed to wrestle a match in Mexico for AAA in the next week or 2 as well... so hopefully Fenix heals quickly.

And Thunder Rosa will be at the commentary table to watch her student, Janai Kai, take on her semifinal opponent in the AEW TBS Championship Tournament, Jade Cargill.

Maybe she'll pop up on AEW TV someday
