The woman is far from innocent, but the murder of her daughter at the University of Idaho made her life even worse.
She had three children and a divorce from their father. She has had a history of drugs. She says she was getting her life together when Xana was murdered.
Smaller cities without crime problems don't have a lot of people dealing with crime. Xana's Mom had a lawyer she felt was on her side. She really trusted her. (Your reaction to her story may vary as to its veracity or lack of same.) It turns out her trusted lawyer is the only one in the area who is qualified to pro bono defend accused murderers. So Xana's Mom is taking it personal that her lawyer is defending the man accused of murdering her daughter.
There is so much wrong, that I read the story and still wonder WtF way is that to live and not notice the ripple effect on those around her.

Reading the whole article, , that lawyer never represented Xana's mother.
The lawyer said her name is on a lot of the paperwork that goes through the public defender's office, but she had never met or worked with Xana's mother.

If someone butchered my daughter (literally- the way this guy allegedly did), I’d have an issue with any lawyer who tried to defend him.
That’s not something I could accept very easily.

Exactly. It’s been reported she was dealing fentanyl. What happened to her daughter is a tragedy but she’s using it to play victim. I wonder how many people she’s killed or endangered being a dealer? frick her.

Are people not entitled to defense? Even if there’s a 99.9% chance the crime was committed by person A he shouldn’t be allowed defense?
