12 gauge vs 14 gauge steel for front truck bumper, which is better?

I’m looking at 2 front bumpers for my truck. FabFours black steel and black steel elite.
The black steel is made of 14 gauge steel. The elite is made of 12 gauge steel but is heavier and more expensive.
Is 14 gauge steel strong enough for a front bumper on an f150?
TIA

14 is fine, you don't need the extra weight on a 1/2 ton front end.
eta. I should’ve asked if you were going to keep the truck a while or sell it in a year or two. If it’s a keeper, the extra weight could possibly wear out the front end prematurely.
Back in the day I sold many Ranchand Legend series round pipe bumpers, they were in the 270sh weight range which was hell on the front end of a 1/2 ton trk. Good luck

Same profile there won't be much difference in performance and a square foot of 12ga only weighs 1/4lb more than 14ga. Bends/ribs/corrugation will give it additional strength which is why I brought up the profile.

The 14 gauge is steel tread plate and weighs 125 lbs
The 12 gauge is smooth plate and weighs 198 lbs

I have the Fabfours Matrix which they list as 3/16 plate steel. Added weight didn’t seem to affect the front end

That is probably close if not as strong as the 12ga flat. Of course that requires something to hit enough raised diamonds. If it gets hit at a 45° angle it will be weaker than the 12ga but they both would get fricked up.
I think the 14ga should be fine.

I had this on my last f150. It was 12 gauge tread plate and was heavy as frick and weighed down my whole front end, but I could hit damn near anything and it wouldn’t even make a dent.
I bought this truck new and plan on driving it until the wheels fall off. That’s why I’d rather have a lighter bumper, but still want protection when I hit a deer or get into a fender bender.

That will be perfect for your truck, strong and still looks good.
