How difficult is it to modify a boat from a 12V trolling motor setup to a 24V setup?

That's it? You don't have to run new wire or put a new plug?

Get a jumper and add a battery
You'll also need enough cable to run from battery to a switch, but all in all would take you 10 min to rig up.

Wiring depends if it's already there, sometimes is. You'll have to add battery tray (if desired), battery (best to replace current trolling battery at the same time), onboard charger to add additional bank if you have one..

Short answer, you connect one battery to the one you have. Thats it.
Make sure you connect it properly. Just a matter which post to which.
Done.

Get 24v trolling motor
Get another battery
hook your negative coming from the trolling motor plug to one battery and the positive on the opposite battery then put a jumper from the open positive and negative

You will have to upgrade wire and breaker/fuse. Minn Kota has a chart on their site.
I put a MG tour 82# on mine. I pulled #6 with a 50A circuit breaker. That what was recommended.

You should re run your wire and up the gauge.
Just a tip: buy marine grade wire. There is nowhere in Baton Rouge to buy marine grade wire. Order online. Its expensive but wont corrode at terminals or connections.

Since we are on the subject. My 24v motor won't work. Is there always a fuse inline ? There is no fire at the bow plug in. Will it be a bigger fuse then the others?
Just got this boat. 19' bay

Reulet electrical supply on airline in BR sells marine grade wire for trolling motors by the foot.

Could/should be a 50 amp inline fuse near the batteries. Test the batteries, clean/tighten terminals, then test your wires going into the deck plug, then the trolling motor plug, trolling motor (bypass all the plugs if you have to) process of elimination
