1968 Evinrude 6 hp, what's it worth?

Just bought a new outboard for my son's bateau, and I'm looking to sell the 1968 Evinrude 6 hp Fisherman 2 stroke outboard that came off of it. It's a 2 cylinder and runs. How much could I realistically get for that motor?

$100-200 Maybe
Honestly I'd just hang onto it for camp decoration or something

Probably not enough to justify selling it. I would keep it and show the kids how to work on it, those older small two strokes are cool.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking $200-$300 range as well. Selling it is a good will gesture for the wife, who wasn't happy I bought the other outboard, but I got a steal on that one (2015 Merc 6 hp four stroke, $700), of course she doesn't understand that! But if I get super low-balled, I'll just keep it.

There are very few instances where tree fiddy actually applies, but in this case, it does.

I wouldn't sell it either. I'd hold onto it, run it every now and then. I agree with the poster above who suggested teaching the younger ones how to work on it if you in fact know how to yourself. A camp decoration isn't a bad idea either. Unless you are strapped for cash and really need the money, I'd keep it. Only get about $500 cash anyway IMO.
ETA: Just read its a 6hp. $250 probably...

For an old outboard condition is everything. A really nice clean motor will bring fairly decent money while a beat up and faded out one not so much.
