220,000 miles on truck. Sometimes when start truck it doesn’t want to shift out of first gear. Internet search says leadframe issue. Should I get fixedor justbuy new jasper transmission? Thanks

My 2012 did the same thing. It costed me $800 to get it fixed back in 2018 but Ford reimbursed me since it was a recall issue and went out before I could get it to them.

leadframe issue

This. I had the same issue a couple of years ago. I was past the 150,000 miles (extended due to recall). Shame on me for not reading that mail.

I bought the part online and found a transmission shop to do the work. I spent roughly $800 between parts, labor, plus tow to shop. Still running strong at 215k, knock on wood.

Had the same issue a couple years ago on my 2013 f150. Bought a lead frame and had a transmission shop fix it. Ran like a champ for a year until it got totaled in a wreck

My 2015 did the same thing at 150k last year. Did it once or twice at first but would reset after truck was turned off.. Once it started doing it more, I brought it to a transmission shop. About $800 fix but supposedly it was the leadframe which is inside the transmission. I didn't even attempt to fix that myself. Sucks, but it fixed the issue.

None before and none since, thank the good Lord. I'd guess 35-40k miles. Money well spent in my experience. I'll need a new truck one day, but I'm hoping to get all I can out of this one.
