Dog was out retrieving... Buddy standing on front of boat pissing. Saw duck coming straight at us from a ways away. He never checked up . Right over the decoys and pew pew down he went haha.

Probably is a mottled... Just going by what a biologist said at the boat launch. He said noticed the speculum was deep dark purple all the way through with no white trim anywhere. But oh well it's no biggie he's cleaned out and ready to eat

I didn't ask... We originally were asking about a mallard we had killed that looked like a hermaphodite... He stated it was a local juvenile that was not in full plummage
