Ordered one of these earlier this week for a cheap back up. Played around with it yesterday and really like it, especially for the price. Just ordered another one to give to my nephew for his birthday.

Yep you usually get what u paid for on those combos. If you only fish and use it sporadically it’ll last you good long time. The greatest lengths in rod reel technology to me is the total weight and sensitivity of high end stuff.It’s hard to go backwards from the expensive stuff when you go that way. Pro tip “don’t go that way”

Abu has always made one or two surprisingly good medium to low-end rods, reels, and combos. Great spare/backup/beginner/cheap guy like me rods and reels

They got slick wth the names. The higher quality s, xs, and stx now they introduced the max line also as max-x, max-xs, and max-stx. They not even close.

Yeah I have a couple of Revo STX and SXs. At first glance I was wondering why it was so cheap until I saw the "max".

The stx and a Veritas rod is my go to combo.
