I had nitto RECON grapplers. Just put on KO3s.
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W is another to look at. Fits right between the above two in road vs mud.
For Your Tundra & Use Case
Mud Priority: If you’re hitting thick, deep mud often, the BFG KO3 is your champ. Its weight (64 lbs) adds rotational mass, but the off-road grip justifies it—think of it as an MTZ lite. Noise is a trade-off for 50k miles.
Road Priority: For 50k miles/year with occasional mud, the Nitto Recon Grappler shines. At 58 lbs, it’s lightest, quietest, and still pulls in moderate mud—closest to your Toyo A/T III leanings but with a rugged edge.
Balanced Choice: The Falken Wildpeak A/T4W splits the difference. At 62 lbs, it’s a middleweight with strong mud grip (near your Baja Boss A/T vibe) and decent noise control—ideal if you want versatility without KO3’s heft or Recon’s milder off-road bite.
Recommendation
Given your MTZ history and “pretty often” mud use, I’d nudge you toward the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W. It echoes the Baja Boss A/T’s aggression (which you’re drawn to) with better road manners for 50k miles. The 62-lb weight is a fair compromise—less MPG hit than the KO3, more off-road guts than the Recon. If your mud is lighter trails, the Recon’s quiet 58-lb package might edge out; if it’s gnarly slop, the KO3’s 64-lb toughness could seal it. What’s your mud depth like? That’ll clinch it!

Goodyear wrangler ultra terrain at, the best of both worlds.

My tundra has BF Goodrich KO2.
I have the same set up, Tundra w/ KO2s, probably 40K on them. I’ve rotated every 5k miles. I can probably get 55k total, but they are getting progressively louder on the road. Wet traction also is abysmal.
I’m looking at the KO3s or something else when these finally wear out.

I misspoke..... I have RECON grapplers not Ridge grapplers.
Love them.... clearly can't remember the name but I love them.

I have the baja boss with 40k on them. Still look basically new.
They get loud if not rotated every 5k.
Price was great.
They do seem to pick up nails more than others. And then the tire is so tough my big arse cant shove a plug into the hole. Had to use a half inch drill bit last time and then put a regular brown plug in.
No leaks after 20k. But Jesus

I've recently have noticed mine getting louder as well. I'll probably go to Nitto Ridge Grapplers when I switch.
I will say, that mine are not bad in the wet, at least not that I've noticed.

Cooper ST Maxx. 5th set for me. More aggressive than an all terrain but great tires.

Mine (4Runner) came with Terra grapplers. Great in dry, off road, roll nice. But not as much fun on the road in the rain.

My last set of Falken WildPeak at3 had 60k on them when I sold the truck, and they looked new still. Granted, it was on an F150 with a light 2.7 eco in it. But they were awesome. Put the Falken MT on my Frontier and they're doing great.

Just bought a set of the recon grapplers of my F150. Love them

I have 2016 Duramax and I’ve predominantly run Toyos. I would go with Toyo AT 3. I had a deal on some Cooper Discovery all terrains fall in my lap when I bought them this last time but as soon as these are toast I’m going back to the Toyos

I had 1 set of those on my Duramax. As soon as they showed any wear they rode so loud and like complete crap. I’m also more accustomed to a very light all terrain though

Very happy with my Toyo AT3s.
Pretty quiet and preform really well in the rain.
Will get them again.

I’m at 47k miles in my current ridge grapplers with another 7-10k miles left in them. I love them.
However, I’ve thought about the ko3’s to change it up as a comparison.

Have 110k miles on my falken at3’s over 7 years and not even starting to think about another set. Rotated pretty much every oil change. On a light aluminum body f150 with eco boost. I have a pic within the last 1k miles I’ll post if I can find it. As quiet as any tire I’ve had and pull ok off-road when needed (not great, but ok)

People on here need a refresher on the definition of love…grown arse men saying they “love” inanimate rubber compound.

I have the Nitto Recon Grapplers as well on my '22 Frontier Pro4x. I do recommend.
