If you were to get an aluminum boat to fresh water fish, mainly bass and sac-a-lait what do recommend? Seems like there are more companies than ever.

Commercially ready? BassTracker for crappie. Xpress for bass.
Plenty of custom builders in LA.

Lund, Alumacraft and Crestliner.

I’ve had 3 Xpress boats, XP50, H51, X19. Enjoyed all 3, solid boats. Started fishing bigger water, then went glass…

Was looking at Xpress, Excel and Lowe. I haven't looked at boats in years and dang there sure are alot of builders.

I have Xpress for fish, traps and frogging. A beat up old 15/48 flat bottom, and a 18/50 Xpress duck boat and both have been awesome.
ETA: as some posters here (and IRL friends) told me, get a larger boat than you think you want.

The best brand is used….
I have an xpress 18’ center console and it will do anything I need it to north of last island and south of 3127. Only problem with it is I can’t figure out how to stop makin kids and it’s getting kind of tight.

I had an xpress X60 for 18 years and upgraded to an X19 2 years ago. The 19' is fantastic for both bass and sacalait fishing - I fish mainly the Basin and Bayou Black area

Have been completely satisfied with my Ranger RT188. They even make a pad hull version now and also the RT198 rated for a 150. My RT188 has been exceptional whether tourney / club fishing, or fishing with 2-3 people. I have complete confidence in it every time I get in it.
Avid also makes a nice boat.

Don’t know if they are out yet, but the seaark flex looks awesome. Also, their bc210 or 190 look almost perfect.
They are pretty expensive though and I’m not sure the price can be justified against a glass boat.

I have no idea why I always get down voted when people ask about tin boats and I mention Lund, Alumacraft and Crestliner.
Maybe because they're "northern" boats. But they're known nationally as well made, high quality fit and finish, fishability and can handle rougher bigger water.
I've fished out of those 3. SeaArk, Xpress, G3 and Lowes. Heck Lowes are built very close to where I was born and raised.
Id get a Lund and not look back.
I had a SeaArk Pro Cat 240 back when I used to fish catfish tournaments all over the country. They're good boats but I'd go Lund. G3s are also made very close to where I grew up. Good boats but mediocre fit and finish.

If I was buying a commercial aluminum bass rig tomorrow, it’d be between Xpress or SeaArk. Lund makes a great boat as well.

I’m not a fan of “northern boats” because their sides are so high. Maybe that’s just my preference and they make lower side versions, I honestly haven’t researched them.

Xpress has always been a solid boat.
Tracker if you're looking to go cheap
Ranger is Tracker, don't waste the extra $ on one.
Avid is a bit nicer than Xpress.

Ive owned . Tracker,G3 and now own a Lowe 1860. Tracker was ok. the G3 was my least favorite . It was flimsy compared to the Lowe which I love.
