Aluminum boat trailer welding question

So I was at boat show today looking at new shearwaters and noticed on the trailers they had boat buckle tie downs on them just like bass boats. Mine can only use the tie rod brand style which always comes loose while trailering down the road. This is because there is nothing on end of trialer to bolt boat buckle down to. Well somebody has done this now and looks and works so much better.
Anyway is there someone in gonzales who does good welding work like this?
Here are some pics to show what I'm talking about.
This is my trailer currently
And this is new shearwater trailer

There is a guy on 22, near the Diversion, that had a sign outside his house that he welds, steel, aluminum and stainless at his house with a number. I have not idea what kind of work he does, but I can grab his number in the next couple of days if you don't get any better leads...

Nope
You need a high frequency machine

So I can't weld aluminum with my welding machine and a spool gun? Seems like they wouldn't sell a spool gun if that was the case

Thanks wick. I will make some calls tomorrow myself and see what I can find.

I have a Aluminum Mig setup that uses Argon gas that works with my DC welding machine.

All I'd need for mine is the gas, wire, and a spool gun. That was a smart arse remark because, hell, I could do it at my house if I wanted.

Should cost pretty close to nothing to have that done.

Wouldn't think so. Just want to find somebody that will do a good job on it and make it look like nice.

No Problem Buddy. I know Clint will do good work and it'll look nice. Just go by and take a look at some of his boats. But, I'm sure pretty much anyone that does alloy welding can take care of this job for you. I just know Clint would guarantee it and fix it if it were to break. Not sure about Templet. I don't really know anything about them.

Nycauburn& HELO,
Good idea but can I just buy a couple pieces of aluminum like that to do it myself? Only know of Hebert steel to ask about that.

Yes, you can. you can go to a place like that and see if the have a smaller piece, or a few pieces of scrap. Or go to lowes/HD and see if the have some that are at least 3/8". Just use a jig saw or angle grinder to cut them and a step bit to drill the holes.
But by the looks of it, are you sure you can't just bolt the boat buckles somewhere direct to the Ibeam? maybe on top?
