Looking into a 18'-20' CC aluminum boat. Would use mainly for inshore and freshwater fishing. Trying to get a list of all of them to do some research.
Xpress
Excel
Alumacraft
War Eagle
What are some others?

I would go with the 20' xpress.

War Eagle makes a good boat. Never been in a center console but hunted and fished out of a few of t

Xpress is the real deal but pricey too.

Their boats. Sorry. Finger hit submit too soon.

Yeah, I like the xpress boats, just a bit out of my range price wise.
How do these aluminum boats hold up in a chop? Do they do well out in a bay? Or does it beat the heck out of you?

Havoc is popular up around these parts.
Eta: I missed the CC part. Nothing to see here.

I don't believe they make a bay series or CC.

Ahh, missed the CC part. My bad

I'm pretty sure Hanko makes a center console.

Ranger. Picked mine up Friday. Runs smoother than my old Xpress, fishes better/easier too.
Eta: just saw CC so no Ranger. Neighbor has a 22' Xpress and the deck broke at the welds crossing Lake decade. Waiting to get it back from Arkansas now.

I have a '13 H20B - know it in and out. Been out to last island many times and can get skinny. It has the typical aluminum boat draw backs vs fiberglass. Also has lots of positives.
They like the most HP and setback that you can afford. High rake props run best (trophy, Yamaha pro series, tempest) - throw away the stock powertec.
Let me know if you need more info

I had a 20' xpress h20 bay. Great boat for the price. I did have paint problems and had to send it back off to Xpress to get repainted. Other then that if you do end up with a 20' Xpress get the 150hp! I found that out the hard way and ended up trading my 115 for a 150sho!

I'd go custom for aluminum. Just watched a coworker have to send his Xpress bay back because the weld running down the bow completely split.2nd time he's had to send it back.

I bet you would. Have you ever priced a build from one of the custom aluminum builders like Gaudet, Gravios, or Lifetyme?
There is a reason you see so many more mass produced boats over the custom built ones and it involves a lot of $$$$$.
But hey if the op can afford it. It's a no brainier to go custom.
