What can the ODB boat experts tell me about these boats? I saw one at the outdoors show in Gonzales that I liked. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks. They seem a bit sturdier than boats like Tracker and other "store brands."

Pay attention to Hull thickness with thought to the application of the boat. Like if you gonna be hitting a lot of stumps get .100 or .125 but if you don’t plan on using it for that then get .08 . I have a .08 and it’s gotten several leaks over the years from abuse

How hard are you hitting shite?!? I'm pretty sure the hull of my boat is 0.08 thick aluminum (its a weldbilt) and I can't imagine a stump going through my hull. I'd have to repower the boat with about 100% more HP to hit a stump hard enough to go through my hull.

Its one of the best aluminum priduction boats on the market. I have a 17 and I really like it.

I've been looking hard for a used 17-18 foot center console. Good looking little rig.

Have owned two Alwelds...great boat hulls
Tough and durable

Visited manufacture when my second hull was being built...good people and well managed fabrication

I may do this; I like seeing how things are made. My brother and I went to the Reno factory in Ponchatoula last year. Great operation.

Great hull. Not many of them out there where you'll find the console welded down.

gottcha. Mostly just stumps where i go with mine, bayous, the basin, the marsh. Not many stones or rocks for me to hit. Just stumps and the like.

I actually didn’t put the holes there... I bought it from ES&H who used it in a fleet of boats to help clean up the BP oil spill

best boats ever made, im in my 3rd one now, (kept going bigger after back surgery for health reasons) had a 14ft flat nose tiller, then a 15ft vee hull side console, and after that motor went out i sold it and now have a 17ft vee hull side console.

i sent it straight from the dealer to a metal fab shop in west wego to have a front storage compartment and a full length floor put in and the rear seat turned into storage for the gas tanks and batteries. that cost me $1800 on top of the cost of the boat that was only $1750 for a LA1752 vee hull.

LINK

the boats are near indestructible and solid as a rock.

only input i have, "in general about any flat boat", is get one with the double transom brace made in it. years of a motor bouncing around back there all the extra support you can have is better.

i have rammed into docks, piers, wooden platforms, and even concrete pilings by accident and all i ever had was scratched paint from it. the bows on the vee hulls are as solid as the back bumper on your truck and i can certainly certify that as fully tested lol

I have a 1544 from 1994. Still going strong.
Great little marsh boat and rides pretty well in Big Lake as long as the chop isn't too bad.

We used to tear up the bass (and ducks) in the marshes of Gum Cove years ago. I sure miss those days.

I have the 1756 only thing I don't like is that I don't have a back deck. Currently looking for someone to make me one. I have essentially a 15' boat when fishing because you can't get all the way to the back with the battery box and fuel tank.
