I'm sure lots of you guys have the above ground Intex pools. In south Louisiana they get pretty warm in the summer.
Seems the most cost effective way to cool them down a few degrees is by using a water fountain or sprayer.
Experts recommend using the fountain at night when it is cooler to get the most evaporation possible.
I can't seem to find anything online other than an LED light fountain that looks like it barely sprays water. Junky Sprayer
I don't mind trying to build my own but these Intex pools have non-standard threads and sizes on everything.
Anyone ever built something like this?
What did you do to adapt to the Intex return line?

If you search for pool hose adapters for "regular" pools, you'll find many options that are sized for normal PVC pipe/fittings.
Built a tee with a valve to divert water to a fountain you build out of PVC. Just search "diy pvc pool fountain" and you find more than you need.

I have one too! We are thrifty on the OB

If I put this thread in the OT we would all be trashy!!

Same here. Although mine was a smaller one, like 8 feet across and only about 2.5 feet deep. Perfect size to sit in and drink some beer.
And I'm Alabama trashy, not South Louisiana Trashy, but we're all just good old baws.

I live in a rural large acreage subdivision and I would love to have an in ground pool but I'm definitely a poor compared to those "ballers" on the OT

We have the 24' x 54" Ultra Frame pool. We used to have a 12' pool but it was getting a little tight as my kids got bigger so we upgraded 2 years ago.
I even splurged on the Saltwater/Sand Filter combo to make maintenance a little easier.

Found a couple of good youtube videos on some DIY options... One guy used some black rubber sleeves from Ace Hardware and hose clamps to connect his PVC to the non-standard pool return lines. I may give that a try and try to build one myself. Thanks for the help.
