Anyone heard the chatter about Space X buying up acreage around Pecan Island?

LINKI’ve been dismissing it, but it seems a little more truthful as it goes on. Supposed to buy 130,000 acres around PI and Freshwater City. That’s a lot of duck blinds that would be taken out the mix, and 130,000 more acres a duck can’t land

Maybe they want to build and operate a giant duck camp for the employees, politicians and contractors??

You mean 130k acres that ducks will land on without being disturbed at all.
Its a potential launch site, thats it. The ducks dont get bothered by this at all.

The article says it’s probably not a launch site because they have to launch to the easy. Due east of PI is New Orleans.

Yes, crazy to believe. Just hoping the 130,000 acres is overblown, or if they do buy it all they can still do a decent job in managing the marsh.

Yall think they’ll still lease out some of it to hunters or what?
I assume the vast majority of that land is just marsh.
Like others said, this essentially could be another Sabine NWR in size.

I was reading an article that states rumors are swirling Vermillion Corp is losing it's surface rights and subsequently will terminate hunting leases. Just rumors at this point.

Call Billy Broussard and ask him, he will know what’s going on.
I would think Space X management would be proactive or more proactive than Vermilion Corp.
Odds on Space X continuing any leases are probably nil, very little upside and $.
Just my humble opinion.
