Are there any Costa sunglasses that are Z87.1 approved?

This thread was opened a few years ago, but I never got a solid answer. I have a pair of Costa Del Mar Fisch 580G glasses. Curious if these would pass the test.

When I wore Costa, I think they are, but Costa won't stamp that on the lens.

And your link specifically states that it passes the testing but nowhere does it say they are stamped.
Care to try again?

My understanding is their lenses past the impact testing, however there is more to certification than impact testing the lenses before they can have the z87 stamp and they aren’t official without the stamp. I was told by a Costa sales rep at last years Sportsman show z87 costas were coming soon but that may be like the check is in the mail.

It doesn't look like Costa does, but they do offer frames for prescription glasses.
You may be able to pay a premium at an optometrist office to get Costa Frames with with rated lenses without prescription modification. But even then, they may be limited in the lens selection by agreements with Costa or available lens that can fit the frames.
Wiley X among other brands, make rated sunglasses.

Approved, no. Do they meet spec, yes.

If no stamp, not OSHA approved eyewear. It’s that simple.
That’s the purpose of the stamping.

Lenses and frames are both etched Z87 on approved glasses so an observant safety man will still bust your arse.
Pretty asinine of costa to not get a line of their glasses approved. They'd sell more than they could make to all the hands out there.

But I believe you are correct for non metallic frames, which is why I think you may not be able to get them, even from an optometrist.

That's why my Wiley X's are my safety glasses and Costa's are my recreational glasses. It does kinda suck having to own 2 expensive arse pairs of glasses since I need scripts in both, but oh well.
