Or both

I have a few new nice SW .22 pistols I'm going to let go of and a new SXP in 20.

Love the Maxus in 12, Love the M2 for all around fun. Thoughts?

Anyone take a turkey with their M2 in 20 this past year? Best choice with ammo as it is? TIA

I never use a 12ga anymore. Every bit of my duck, turkey, goose, rabbit hunting etc is done with either a Mag 20 Auto 5 or M2 20. I haven't missed shooting a 12 any at all. Go with TSS for turkeys.

I don't waterfowl hunt anymore, so the main time I use a shotgun is turkey season. With that being said, I never plan on shooting a 12ga again. 20 all day long.

If I were buying a new shotgun right now, it'd be a 20 and the M2 is where I'd start my shopping.

For waterfowl and turkey I'd be looking at the Boss loads and pattern my gun.

Spend some time improving your shooting.

Is Benelli M2 still an option I thought they had moved the 20ga under the SBE III platform. I maybe wrong they may still offer the M2 but I know they make the 20ga in the SBE III

Been using the M2 20 gauge for Turkey for almost a decade. Paired with a Black Diamond choke, Burris FF3 reticle and TSS #9.

Great gun that’s easy to tote all day.

Thanks all. I think question has been answered...both. Lol, in all seriousness, I think one poster brought up an interesting point about the SBE and 20. Will be interesting to see the differences/hold them but the .20 M2 is a winner (and definitely wonderful to carry) but the Maxus is not far from it.

Ammo wise, I wonder what the smarter buy is in our day and time?

Have you held or shot the Maxus II yet? I haven't but love the original Maxus.

Got the 20 m2 3 years ago and haven't picked up my 12 since. I shoot boss #5s or #4s for ducks and tss 9s for turkeys. Not once have I felt like I was handicapped shooting it.

Over the years I have owned at least 10 browning shotguns/rifles. I had the original maxus in 12 ga and it unfortunately was a victim of their sticky stock syndrome (google it).
The process in getting the stock replaced under warranty was a complete chitshow and took over a year to get resolved. I had used Browning's warranty services in the past and it was not problematic.
I also own the original benelli SBE and it is to this day, the hardest kicking shotgun I ever shot. I hate it.
On a whim I decided to buy a black, synthetic stocked M2 in 20 ga. for snake killing and general service (dove hunting, etc). It is the most reliable, fun to shoot gun I own. You can feed it ANY type of shell and it will shoot. I never clean or lube it and it gets dirty.....
Short of a competition clays gun that has been fitted to you....that damn M2 is a great gun.

If you like the original Maxus, you’ll love the Maxus 2. Check one out at your local gun shop. They just feel right.

I'd go with the Benelli M2 .20 all day long. I just bought one for my son and it is a dream to shoot. He killed 2 turkeys with 1 shot from my cousins M2 .20 this past season which drove my decision. I think it's more about the TSS and good choke, but it flat out hammered them at 30yds. As an fyi, he's transitioned to shooting the M2 at anything that has wings full time.
