I really want to like those Can-Ams, but...
I love mine. I have a 2016 outlander 650 I bought new in December of 2018. So, 5 and a half deer seasons and I’ve had 0 issues with it. I hate to admit it, but I’ve never even changed the oil in it, as bad as that is. I’ll probably do an oil change and brake pads this summer and hopefully it’ll be good for another 5-6 seasons.

All I’ve ever owned were Hondas and have zero complaints. Currently have a Foreman, Rancher and the 1000-5 Pioneer.
Almost forgot my youngest boys Polaris sportsman 90. That lil thing has taken a beating also and still running.
Assume just like every thing else, they are all good brands till something breaks.

Honda is probably the most reliable of them all.
It would be my pick for a manual shift bike.
I do not like their automatics though. I prefer belt drive over Hondas automatic.

But if your looking for most dependable longest lasting and least amount of maintenance then yes they are still the best.
They’re definitely in that top tier for reliability still but the gap isn’t what it was years ago where you couldn’t break one if you tried. Been around a couple foremans, they have broken half shafts, a drive shaft, and had bearings go out under moderate to heavy use which is exactly what breaks on any other fourwheeler that would have been used to do the same things. Have a couple grizzlies running the same property and they have had more electrical issues due to rodents going after the “natural” wire insulation than mechanical problems. One smokes and eats oil because it was ran with chocolate milk in the engine for over a year, but you don’t notice anything riding it. They all will last if you are prepared to keep up with the maintenance and realize wear parts break at some point.

For Stock and Reliability I think Honda and Yamaha are on the top still. But seems like they are all making really nice machines now.
I Love the big Hondas.
I just picked up an old big bear that runs like a top.

Yes, until the brakes go out.

Fastest no.
Most dependable powerhorse that will easily last 15+ years. You’re GD right.

Honda and Yamaha are solid bikes. The models with independent rear suspension ride much better.

How do you like the 1000-5? It's not in the cards for me right now, but I'd love to get my hands on one of those some day. I don't know anyone that has one so was wondering your thoughts on it. I've got a Honda Pilot FL400r, but that's no good with two kids.

SUZUKI…proven more reliable than Honda or Yamaha.
This has been discussed on numerous threads prior.
Suzuki invented the 4 wheel ATV.

I use it exclusively at my hunting camp. I don’t have any mechanical complaints at all. Has plenty enough power for what I do. Love the option to either cruise in automatic or use paddle shifter.
The roof does get in the way on the rear when trying to fill feeders from the bed.
Also is a very dusty ride when windshield is on. Durning summer months I take windshield completely off to keep dust off passengers.

You're getting downvoted but you're not wrong.
Suzukis are everybit as bullet proof as Honda or Yamaha.
They ALL have their quirks and issues but one is as good as the others.
I've owned them all and the Rhino I currently drive has been an absolute BOSS.

Add Kawasaki, none of the Japanese bikes are going to be unreliable. That’s what they do. If Tohatsu made a fourwheeler that mf would run forever too. Really comes down to if they make one with the features you like and doing routine maintenance.

If I was buying a new atv today it would be a Honda rubicon manual shift with power steering. Of course everyone will have their own opinion. Me personally I’ve been working on Atv’s for over 20yrs so that does help me decide. Honda won’t be the fastest nor most powerful but it’ll stay together. Also another reason I prefer Honda is the fact they make parts for their products way longer than other mfg’s. For those whom don’t know, the requirement is only 10yrs. May not matter to most people. Whatever you buy, keep the oils clean, air filter too and don’t let it sit up.

Tell that to the new 420/520 frames.
Neighbor's boy is on his second frame. Soon to be third.
Bike is lifted, but just sees a ton of gravel roads.
The damned welds on the front look they were done with a little tykes My First Welder.

Yea, seen some crap welds for sure. Not all of them though. An bad welds aren’t brand loyal lol.

My canam defender rides nice but honestly it’s dog shite. 4x4 has quit working and has a coolant leak. Possibly head gasket. Ugh.

I’m still rolling in a 98 Honda 300 but I think this summer I’ll get a Foreman.
Not sure if I want the old reliable manual shift or to get the package with the electronic shite. I know it has its conveniences but I still say it’s just more shite that will go out. That foot shift is something I’m used to anyway.
