Not familiar with Gibson. Where is that? Can you give me good launch?

It's down in the marsh. About 1hr30min from Baton Rouge in Gibson, LA.
Bob's Bayou Black Marina is the marina I use. They have directions on their website.

Awesome, thanks. I will definitely get down there soon.
How about anything in the opposite direction (North of I-10) so I can try to include my dad?

You can give False River a try. It's a different kind of fishing. Mainly focusing on hitting piers. You usually won't catch a whole lot, but they have some big fish there.
I keep hearing people are catching bass and sacs in Blind River, but I don't have any confidence in that place.

False River any good? We used to go to Old River in Innis a lot, but never had a lot of luck.
We're pretty bad at fishing as a family, though.

False River is slow fishing and it is not as productive as it used to be.
The water is too high at Old River. I have a camp there. The bass usually start biting when the MS River in Baton Rouge is at 23 ft and falling.
The Lake Verrett and Stephensville areas have been hot lately.
Another spot, much closer to BR is the north end of the Spillway, near Jack Miller's Landing.

fished the north end of verret and parts of "crackhead" last weekend - water was not very clean but we did manage to catch 7 13 1/2" bass. they were up close on the trees. Buzzbaits early, Berkely Havoc Craws and chatterbaits worked in the muddy water.

That's been the story out there this year. Same with the Spillway.

I've pulled more 13 1/2" bass outta verret this year than I can count, very few smaller than that, and only about 10 keepers so far this year.
