Anywhere campsites specifically in Kisatchie you’d recommend?
We used to camp at Kistache Bayou campground. It was all primitive sites except for one camper spot with no hookups. Used to have a permanent latrine house and it was all situated on a slight bluff above the bayou where some eroded sandstone had formed a gradient drop and created an area of running water and riffles that the kids could tube down, hike back up and play in the swirling pools.
Also this water feature provided a peaceful background noise of gently flowing water that was so relaxing when you had the site to yourself. Haven't been out that way in years but there used to be other campgrounds nearby to this one as well.

on that kisatchie bayou, is it able to be fished? like if you have a gator tail, can you put in and fish it or is it more of a "play in" type creek?

Chicot State Park was one of my favorite camping spots for camping with young kids.
Tickfaw State Park just outside of Baton Rouge was also a favorite campground of my kids. They mostly loved the numerous trails and the canoeing.
