Sabine spots are over fished with tattoos and baby mamas.
All easy access spots are over fished. It's the reason I've never taken my kids once. The gas to drive there and back, the high probability of not catching shite worth keeping, and sweating our arse off for nothing then having to buy them anyway. It's cheaper just to buy them and boil them.

People are catching Blue crabs in Lake Palourde this year!

My thoughts as well unless I go behind the wiers and then it’s make sure I’m not over the limit.

Best spot is Marsh Island, second best is my pier at Cypremort Point.

Is there any kind of public dock/ramp down in Sabine Wildlife Refuge?

West Cove
Hog Island
Blue Crab
Hog Island is closed until july 15th for marsh work (both sides).
Launch at Hog Island and West Cove for boats is good but docks can be a challenge when there is current, need two to launch.

To toss chicken necks on a string in the water available to the public? When I was a kid, I did that at Prien Lake park. That place still there? But I forgot, it's supposed to rain there in the coming days. Lots of fresh water.

Go at night with a good light and dip net and you can scoop them up coming in with the tide.
this sounds more fun than traps/bait. Is it effective enough to feed 3 people?

Pac has been very disappointing this year. Beer chance going in the management area if you got the boat to get there.
Grand isle crabs start same time as tarpon.

Easily when they are running.

Last few years we've done really well up near the saltwater barrier by boat above lake charles.
Low salinity this year so who knows.
Hopefully will get out and go next week when we're at the camp.

Salty water stops at north cut of West Cove this week, may get to Kelso next week "may".

Man, that's what I was worried about.
Been watching salinity chart. My aluminum boat is still down, and not willing to take ski boat much further than the barrier.
Killing me not fishing this year! We may try and fish holly Beach one morning if it looks right while we're there. Just a long drive from moss bluff.
I hate roadside crabbing. Much more chill in the boat away from the mouth breathers.
