Best way of getting rid of ants in home?

With all the rain we've been getting along with having kids who leave water and food around the house (yes, we clean it up immediately when we see it)...we have had those small tiny ants at random places in our house. I've placed Terro Ant Baits everywhere I've seen them, but I don't find they always work. I've had them out for probably over 2 months (replaced them every few weeks with new ones) on my daughter's dresser, but they are still there. I see dead ants in the bait stations and I replace them, but they still haven't stopped. What have you guys had good luck with in the past? I was trying to avoid spraying around the baseboards in my daughters' rooms, but I'm to the point that I will try any recommendations that have been proven to work. TIA

Have you checked along the outside of your house to see if there is an ant mound?

Check out paste type baits. They come in small tubes and are squeezed out in areas where you see ants. The ants are attracted to it, eat it and return to the colony where they feed it to other ants, killing the colony in a few days time.
I did this in my house years ago and haven't had ants or any type small roaches in ages. I only get the big cockroaches in the winter time that are looking for a warm place to live , and only 3-4 over the months of what passes for our cold weather.

I use Ortho Home Defense indoors. Talstar around the outside of the house. And the Spectracide granules in the yard.
No ant problems here. And I have the same problem as you. Messy kids.

be careful how you kill them, they stink when they die in your walls.

Cyonara 9.9. Spray the yard and hard spray the interior and exterior oerimeter of the home.
If it is creepy crawly, it dies.

got to find where they are coming from or you are just spinning your wheels. Look around exterior of house for mounds and kill them, best thing is to treat you entire yard with talstar granules, then spray liquid suspend sc around exterior perimeter (3 feet up the wall and 5 feet out on the ground), then spray base boards and crevices inside...once the spray dries it is pet and child safe

I agree suspend SC as interior and exterior spray.
Do not have anymore Carpenter Bees, spiders, silverfish, roaches, and Ant issues in my house or inside my rental properties.
Then I treat the yard quarterly with Talstar XP Granules or less expensive generic version which they push from Do my own pest control.
