I have a Dodge Ram that I park outside. I drive a lot for work too so I need reliable ones.

Always went rain-x when buying mine and have never had issues

I've been using the Bosch Icons.
regardless, if you keep your truck outside you will need to replace them probably 2-3 times a year.

All I know is they are rather expensive pieces of plastic. Paid 100 for 4 wiper blades for my wife's truck and and my truck.
Went with the Bosch Icon's. They're about $25ish a piece. I've never had a bad pair of new wiper blades. These work great and are quiet. But I can't give you any input on how long they'll last.

I use Bosch on my truck, and always have. They seem to last longer than other brands. I think the ones I have on it now are two years old, and my truck isn't ever covered

Sounds like you should just go with the cheap option if you'll be changing them that often regardless.

For longevity always go with a Silicon wiper blade. They cost more but last longer than rubber.

+1. Any single-piece wiper blade is better than the ones with the metal legs.
BUT I'm a huge proponent of having a properly cleaned and treated windshield. Water does not naturally stick to glass - it sticks to the deposits embedded in the glass. You have to get these deposits out and then apply a water repellent like Rain-X windshield treatment. Then the water will bead like it does on waxed paint and you will use your wipers a lot less, not to mention have massively improved visibility.
On the highway doing 60+ I don't even have to turn mine on.

I just got the rain-x ones and i like it. they have rain=x in them, so it treats your window every time you use it.

Kind of but kind of not. It deposits the treatment on top of your untreated windshield. It's a happy medium but nothing will treat your windshield as properly as polishing and treating your glass.

I think Rain X is a real good products. Once you treat the windshield any good set of wiper blades work well when you actually need them.
Be careful about getting these fancy 2 blade systems or ones that use special arms that put extra pressure on the blades to help them clean. That extra pressure will create friction and shorten the lives of the wiper motors. Rain X is better.

Hate/Loathe Rain-X. Eventually it builds up and creates windshield wiper chatter which is stupid annoying.
Clean your windshield with Bar Keeper's Friend every other car wash for the best solution. Leaves the windshield very clear. Water doesn't stick to glass it sticks to the crap on glass. Clean windshields shed water so you don't need gummy junk.
Bosch Icons are what I've used in the past. Also had good luck with Michelin which has a model with a similar design.

Go to Rock Auto and buy a 12 pack of Bosch wiper blades for $2.50 each. Change them out every 3-6 months.

I use bosch icons. Definitely the best I've ever used. Expensive though

For our Honda and Toyota passenger cars, I have just paid what the dealer wants for factory blades. They work and fit way better than any of the various ones I've tried from parts stores.
Agree that Rain-X helps. Old blades will last a little longer--before they start chattering and streaking--with an application of it.

This. Had one pair of Rain-X "disintegrate after 5 weeks. Sent email to Rain-x "customer service" - never heard a word from them.

Bosch blades hold up better than anything I've tried.

Off topic, but how are you getting hard water spots off your windows? This makes it sound like you just polish it out then treat with rain-x.

The chatter happens occasionally, and I agree it’s annoying, but I don’t know what “build-up” you’re talking about. I applied the treatment to my windshield about 4 years ago and it still beads water very well. Plus I’ll take occasional wiper blade chatter to have visibility and not need my wipers as much.
Rain-X windshield treatment is like any other wax or sealant used on your paint - it has a solvent in it (alcohol or acetone I believe) and then it dries on your glass. When you wipe the excess away, you’re left with a clear windshield just like you would with waxed paint.

I use a Flex dual-action polisher with a glass polishing pad and some cheap glass polishing compound from amazon. I do two passes across the glass surface (one horizontal and one vertical) and then clean the polish off with Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel. I apply the windshield treatment with a microfiber wax applicator (you can get them at any auto parts store) and let it dry for a few minutes. Then I go back and wipe the haze away while it’s dry and finish off with another pass of Invisible Glass.
There will be a haze right after applying but it will come off the next time the windshield is cleaned. As long as a strong degreaser like Dawn or Simple Green isn’t used, the coating will stay on your glass indefinitely.
I recently re-polished my side windows since they had a ton of buildup from water drying on my windows in the sun. Now they bead water again after treatment.
If you’re in the Baton Rouge area I’d be happy to show you. If not, the process is pretty basic. Just need the right tools.
