Bank of the West has been good to me. We bought a boat 7 years ago and a 5th wheel camper this year through them. No complaints

If you own a home, consider a home equity loan. You can write the interest payments off on taxes. One of the down sides is it takes much longer to get the money as it's a second mortgage, and has to go through similar protocol as the original mortgage.
I did this when I re-powered by boat last year, and set it up to pay off in 1.5 years on a 5 year loan. Once paid off I may do it again to build my workshop/man cave.

That is who I have my boat financed through. My interest rate is around 4%.

Do you Bank of the West consumers live in Louisiana. I looked on their website and it listed states you had to live in to get a loan. Did you do it yourself or go through a dealer?

It was through Cabela's.
ETA: Found it on their website Blue Water Finance. Did this application and was approved within 6-8 hours for a Comanche. Ended up with the RT188.

I believe Bent Marine also uses them. Must need to go through a dealer in Louisiana.

What kind of boat are you looking at getting?

Nothing new. Just casually looking around for a used bay boat.

As a banker, credit unions are usually cheapest rates. But would not hurt to check with your bank if you have been long time customer. Will give breaks on rates and terms.

I'm not sure what you are looking for but I have a 2016 Xpress 22 Bay that will be for sale in a couple weeks. Title in hand.
