Yak guys, anyone have experience in a Bonafide SS127? Is the tracking as bad as the video reviews make it out to be? Open water and winds? If I go with the SS127 I'll order the flex wings from Bonafide, apparently they do help. It seems like a really good purpose built fishing kayak. Is it all hype?

I have one. It tracks fine. Light years better than my pelican catch 120. Don’t know what they’re basing that review off of. I mean, it’s not going to track as good as a Jackson Cuda or an Ocean Kayak, but those are very different hulls.
As far as open water, it’s a super stable platform and I’ve never felt nervous in it. I’ve not taken it off the beach, but I would if conditions were right. I took my Catch 120 to Toledo Bend, so I’d have zero issue with taking this boat.
I’ve fished inshore and freshwater, paddled down the Tchefuncte during heavy traffic. It’s got a ton of room, seat is super comfortable, the modular storage in the cockpit is awesome. I’ve got my felt finder mounted on it, transducer is on the bottom, so I can just take the whole thing out. The slide out tray that’s under seat is absurdly useful. Tapped for a power pole too, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet.
I can stand up in it without any big effort. Casting standing up is comfortable. There are some great video reviews if it’s stability and I can tell you they’re legit. It’s one of the main reasons I went with the boat.
Only complaint is I got a tan colored hull which isn’t really what I wanted. But they were almost impossible to find last year, so you get what you can.
Hope this helps!

El I picked it up. Great shape, barely used. Any mods or add-ons that are must gets? I ordered the flex fins from Bonafide and I'm trying to find a rudder system in stock. Anything else you'd suggest? What wheel system or trolley? It does have alittle heft to it.

As far as mods, with all the rails you can really do anything you want. Like I posted I have my Lowrance setup on the modular storage so there are no exposed wires or anything. I did order a set of scupper plugs just because I like keeping the water out of the bottom.
Honestly I really haven’t had a ton of time to get on the water since the spring. Looking forward to the transition season before hunting season where I can get out and it’s not so damn hot.
