Does anyone have any first hand experience owning or riding in a boat powered with a Boss Hoss 75 surface drive? What are you thoughts?

What do you want to know specifically?

It will be on a 20x62 gatortrax. Duck hunting marsh fishing rig. Just looking for first hand opinions, pros and cons compared to a dual surface drive rig. Thanks!

Not first hand but heard guys had trouble.
They converted duals to a 75 and lost speed but could carry the same load or gained speed but couldn't carry the load. No prop could match or out perform duals.

Duals would add an extra 200 lbs to back of boat. The attraction of the 75 is performance of duals with less weight. Thanks again!

Will text my guy that runs shop and get details tomorrow for you.
Just got off phone with my contact at boss. Early motors had some design flaws that were fixed, current motors are solid. Have said that, one single will never have the torque of twins but will have a speed advantage of less drag. He also said all of the surface drive motors are advertised giving the operator a mindset that they are indestructible which is False. Preventive maintenance in his opinion is second in failure causes, they must be maintained.

I was picking up my boat a few weeks ago and a fella was there with a 3 month old Relentless Mudboat with a 75 Boss on it.
I complemented him on it he says he loved the boat but not the motor ..... it had been in the shop 9 times due to different motor issues. I told him he needs to file a lemon law on that thing.
