Bush Hog rate per hour

What's a fair price per hour to pay for bush hogging pasture land? Central MS.
Obviously larger bush hogs, 16 feet or so would take about 1/3 the time of a 4 or 5 foot bush hog and the hourly rate would be higher.
What are you guys paying?

What’s the location? I have a guy in Jefferson county that we hire to do all of our tractor work for hunting lease. He’s $50 - $75 an hour depending on job. He’s a real good guy

I just got a quote for $1000 for an estimated one day of bush hogging ($1,000/8 hrs = $125/hr): BergeronsLawnandLandscapingLLC. Problem is it only took me half a day to mow the same area with my IH-140 tractor and a RM600 woods finish mower. They like to estimate the job and not charge by the hour. I think $125/hr is reasonable, but you can pay double that if you pay by their job estimate.

That was the number I was thinking. That’s the going price in NELA. That’s what I would charge if I did it for anyone.

Even if it takes them 4 hours they still have travel time and it pretty much burns up their full work day unless they have another job down the street to go to on the same day, so they'll charge the full day price, if that makes sense.

What do you need done? I’m about 20 minutes from Crosby. I have a dozer service and we do tractor work as well.

I’m in the landscape business, and used to do a bunch of tractor work. We now only do skid steer work outside of the landscaping and lawn items.
I quit the tractor work because most people only wanted to pay time on the job and not a minimum. Loading, unloading, fuel, travel time, etc adds up. We get $100-125 per hour on skid steer work when priced by the hour, but that’s usually skilled final grade work. I charge about $150-175 when doing brush cut work with a skid steer because of the west and tear on machinery.
Truck, trailer, skid steer and attachments usually total about 150K in investment. That investment has to be paid for. Tractors can be quite a bit cheaper to purchase and maintain. A 40-50 hp tractor can even be pulled with a heavy half ton depending on the tractor. That’s enough to handle a 6 ft bush hog.
I would think tractor work would be a $400-500 minimum depending on his travel time and fuel.

I would’ve guessed $250.00 and hr. I would not do it for much less, personally.
