Cowan in south LA. Means turtle. In Avoyelles parish it means " female sex organ". Imagine my uncles surprise when he walked into a restaurant in Houma and the special was Cowan!

Gallette also has a female sexual organ in avoyelles but in some parishes gallette is like a begniet. I ha a friend who talked about eating gallettes for breakfast to a female cousins of mine and I fell out laughing at the expression on her face. What is the third meaning of cowan?

Cher petite bebe sucre. Pronounced cher tee bibi such. Sweet little sugar baby. My favorite, after couyon of course.
Mange merde is shiteater. I like the term immerdeur, on who fouls up, gets shite on something.

I always thought couyon meant dumb arse? Maybe just how my fam used it. Grande chou = fat arse. Chein= dog. Can understand more than I can speak anymore though.

Make a "couche" Technically means Evening outing, but used to refer to an evening hunting trip.

You are right. Couyon spelled
Couillon I think. Means fool dumb arse clown.
Fat arse gros or grande chou, sp?

Fonchoc (fawn-chock) - generally a douchebag who thinks highly of himself.
Not really Cajun French, but we always called those spikey bastids that grow in the grass and stick your feet: rock-a-cha's

Pis son lis thats the black and yellow flowers that grow wild in the fields. Cajun lore has it that if you play around in them they make you pee in the bed.
