Cell Phone Coverage while Fishing in Cocodrie/Dularge?

I posted this previously on the OT Lounge, but probably should have posted here.
Need some help re Verizon coverage. We're in the process of switching over to Verizon from AT&T (I'm still pissed off about AT&T's piss-poor service during the flooding a few months ago), and I forgot to check what my coverage would be like while fishing in South Louisiana. (I fish .... A LOT.) I typically fish Cocodrie, Dulac and Dularge areas (sometimes other areas like Grand Isle and Cypremore) and certainly need cell service while I'm on the water. Does anyone have experience with Verizon in these areas? Also, does anyone know what their service is like offshore out of these areas (like 10 miles out)? Any input would be appreciated! Thks.

I've sent text messages off network at 70 miles off shore. You can still get messages out off network, it's just like a 10cent charge.
This is out of fourchon/cocodrie though.
For some reason I can't get anything out in Venice. Maybe it has something to do with signal bouncing through rigaforms

Unfortunately my AT&T service is better fishing Grand Isle/Leeville than at home in Ascension!

ATT works great for me from Dularge out to the islands (well, what's left of them). No idea about offshore tho.

My AT&T phone woks fine in all places you listed until you get to the islands in cocodrie/dularge then it gets spotty. Last island service is pretty much non existent.
My Verizon work phone has much better service on the coast.
I work for an offshore company so I've seen these two phone services at every dock along the cost over the last few years and Verizon is better.
Once offshore it's about the same when you are bouncing off towers. Some places get service further out some lose it at the coast.

no shite. He asked this first on the OT. I'm simply letting him know that ATT works well for me in the event Verizon users tell him their service is shitty.

Why be on the phone while fishing?
Don't want to lose it in the water

My buddy trawls out of Dulac. When he's running in he often times "goes live" on Facebook to show what he caught. I'm 99% sure he's on Verizon.
