I'm looking for some small binoculars that I could use out at the camp and for hunting. I want something that I can use to identify birds in somewhat low lights and that won't break the bank. I'm sure some OB'ers use binos when hunting. What do y'all recommend?

You could try something like these Nikons linked below. I've used them for football games and they are good for compact binos. To be honest, though, compact binoculars are not going to do great in low light. They simply can't because the small lenses can't gather enough light for a bright image. If you want performance you will need to go to a larger binocular. Instead of the 8x25 I linked you want at least a 8x42 for performance (gets 280% of the light of the smaller bino) and I prefer a 10x50 which is getting a bit heavy. For inexpensive compacts, though, the Nikons below are a good pick.

I small are you looking for? I've got a pair of Leupold 8X25's that fit in my shirt pocket. I've also got a pair of Leupold "Yosemite" 6X30's that I would call compact, but are much bigger than the 8X25's.
