Anyone here have a good recommendation for carry options when you don't have a belt to support the weight? I'd prefer to be able to carry at least a single-stack 9, like my Shield. I've been resorting to pocket carrying a .380, but would like more options.

I'm assuming a belly band type is going to be the best option. If so, any recommendations on a particular brand/model?

Unity tactical clutch

I use it when I'm in gym shorts. I tried the pocket carry but it just doesn't work. Good for keeping first aid stuff too if going for a hike.

Stay strapped or get clapped.

Get a holster with an ulti-clip. I wear athletic shorts 90% of the time and it's the best way to carry.

I ordered some ulti-clips and ended up staying with the belly band. They're convenient af but my shorts must be too cheap to hold up the pistol.

This is exactly what you are looking for: LINK

I run and this keeps my Glock 43 secure and I do not even notice it’s there, seriously. It disappears under a T-shirt and shorts. I’ve recommended it several times on here. It’s under $50.

SCK HOLSTERS

Silk Custom Kydex Holster
located in Walker, LA

I recommend having him add an Ulti Clip on whatever style you choose. It will "bite" onto the clothing you described.

UltiClip

It is the only choice in my opinion, I have 3 SCK holsters all with ulti clips because of the gym shorts and scrubs like you mentioned.

DTOM has some great holsters. Did a 5 mile hike yesterday in gym shorts. Clipped my Kel-Tec P32 inside the waist band. Could have put it in the pocket. Fits multiple calibers.

I use an ulticlip with kydex holster, but all my athletic shorts have a good drawstring. If you have drawstrings then ulticlip might work, otherwise - belly band. Whatever belly band you choose I'd recommend one with an actual holster that fits your gun - not one with some spandex Velcro holster crap. I could be wrong here but I think Crossbread makes a belly band with a kydex holster in it.

Alien Gear Sport Tuck Belly Band

I think I'm liking the idea of getting this belly band and I can use just about any IWB holster with it. They obviously want you to use one of theirs, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for any. Single clip holsters should def work, and 2 clip holsters should work as long as they are similarly spaced as the advertised Alien Gear model.

Would allow for better retention and trigger protection (depending on which IWB holster you choose) than standard belly bands that rely on the spandex/elastic material. And it looks fairly comfortable.

Kydex holster with ulticlip. I use it on a daily basis for this application.

This is what I also use for walking, jogging activities. Works quite well as long as your belly is not gigantic.
