Cost difference between metal building & wood frame for a shop?

For something like a 30x50 shop similar to the picture below.
I build my current shed (20x30 wood frame) for about $33/sf (excluding concrete). Just trying to get a rough guess for something like 30x50 metal building compared to that.

The prefab Galvalume buildings are a no brainer for cost and ease to put up. Reed's Metals has them on their Web site. You can chat with a girl through their chat feature and she'll price it out for you on the spot.

BIL had one put up this summer that is 30x40. Cost around $15K. Metal, concrete and insulated.

I built a 30X50 metal myself for around $5500, not including concrete. But I don't buy pre-fab typically. I bought the WF beams and cut them to length myself and built the mainframes. Then ordered the perlings and sheets and trim. All welded together. It can save you a ton of money if you know how to fab and erect a metal building.

While I am capable of that, that's a little more than I want to bite off. I'm taking more the bolt up type of buildings you can buy.

That seems pretty high. Bricked?

Hardiboard. I'll have to look at my spreadsheet but I think it was about $20k+concrete. Top of my head breakdown:
$12k framing materials, roofing, and siding (probably includes $1k-$2k in concrete accessories)
$2000-$3000 in labor to frame & black out
$700 for roof install
$1500 for garage door
$1000-$1500 for electrical and plumbing
And I guess another few $k for misc stuff
Only subcontract was frame and black out and roof. I did the rest.

I did mine about the most expensive way possible. My building is 30x50 and I am about $80K into it. I separated a 20 x 30 room that is completely finished out - Full kitchen, full bath with huge walk in shower, living room. Cypress ceilings etc. The shop side, I ended up putting up wood framing on the interior of th metal walls. I did galv tin on the bottom and cypress 1x8's all the way up to the ceiling.
The whole deal is very nice, and I love my time out there, but I wish I had just paid somebody to build it all out of wood and been done two years ago.

Can we see pics of this?...because it sounds like heaven. I can't wait for my shop. Gotta find the right piece of land first

I had a 24x36 full metal building with 14ft walls, insulated, roll up on each end and a 4ft entry door, along with a 16x24ft loft and it was right at 25k total labor and materials with a 6“slab. Pole barn would have been a good bit less, but I didn't want trusses to take space from the loft.

In the process of building a 30x50 with 25' hips as we speak. All of the quotes I got for a metal frame ranged from $20k - $33k for plain building to insulated with a 12x12 room w/bathroom. This was including slab.
I decided to build it myself using 2 7/8" tubing as the frame because I had it available. So far I've got the slab poured, roof on, and purlins for walls welded on. Ive also got the metal for the walls just haven't put it up yet. I've got about $9,500 in it. Figure by the time I'm done I'll be about $17k in it.

I've been rearranging the shop to get ready to finish the ceiling. I'll post pics when it isn't so trashed.

How do the galvalume buildings compare to pole barns?
Seems like everyone I know is putting up pole barns.

Example pics? You can't have a thread about shops without pics of shops. It's like a babe thread without pics of babes.
