CZ P09 vs G17 (Gen3)

I’ve got a buddy that wants to trade me his P09 for my G17. Truth is, the G17 is just a hair big for my hands and it seems like a very fair deal. I’ve just never handled it (and I won’t trade him until I do). We’ve been casual friends for 25 years, so I’m not worried about him trying to screw me, I mainly just posted this here to see if one of you could tell something that I need to know that I may not know.

Probably needs to give you a little on the trade.

And I’m not terribly worried about coming out on the less end of the deal by a little. I don’t love the 17 and he’s had a rough go the last year and a half or so. Mainly just wanted to make sure there were no major flags.
ETA: he said he’s the only owner and has put less than a hundred rounds through the CZ.

It's a da/sa pistol with a hammer so it's quite a bit different than the glock. It's still a full size as well so it'll be a similar size to the 17. I think it has 19rd mags though, don't quote me on that.
If you want to try something different and don't mind losing a couple bucks than go ahead. The value difference isn't that much and CZ makes good stuff.

I’d do some YouTube videos and see the reviews, cleaning vids, etc.
Probably one of the best is Honest Outlaw….he does lots of review vids. Find his channel and search for P-09.
Personally, I prefer CZs over Glocks because of the grip angle. An old wrist injury doesn’t let me shoot Glocks comfortably, otherwise, Glocks are very nice pistols.

This was my main point of contention, but I don’t mind putting in range time and figuring it out.
And I’ve always wanted to own a CZ, (but I’d rather a CZ75).
I figured if it’d fit my hand a little better, this might give me a chance to figure a CZ out… as long as the 09 wasn’t a glaring POS

CZ makes superior products. Make the trade and then trade P09 for the CZ75b and be glad you did it.
