My son just got a previously owned pick up truck out of Mississippi. We are located in Baton Rouge Louisiana. The window tint on this truck is the darkest I have ever seen, I’m talking backseat of a limo dark. Does anyone know where we can get this vehicle inspected and not be hassled with the dark window tint? He may end up removing it and getting something a little lighter but in the meantime we’d like to get an inspection sticker. Thanks in advance for anything you can share.

Just take it off. It's pointless to have tint that dark and extremely hard to see out of at night.

Get legal and you'll be a lot happier.

You can and should still get a ticket.

Tell your son it’s not 1985 and peel that stuff off. Get it tinted to legal specs and move on.

Dude, if I wanted a smart arse answer I would have posted this question on the OT lounge. We got the truck yesterday, so not a whole lot of time to remove window tint. And if you missed it in the first post we bought the truck from somebody else, meaning he didn’t put it on there.

I had a guy tell me my truck wouldn't pass spec because of the tint. I drove home, took a blow dryer and a razer blade to the front windows, and 10 minutes later was back getting my truck inspected.

Thank you sir for the sensible response. I read about a few ways to remove window tint if necessary. This truck is a super crew cab. Do all four windows need to be de- tinted or just the front driver and front passenger? TIA....

I'm not sure exactly where you are, but most towns have a used tire/inspection sticker/hand wash and detail place on, you know, that side of town.

They'll hook you up.

Only front windows are limited on percent. Nothing on the windshield lower than the AS1 mark.

cop will write you a ticket AND make you peel the tint right there on the side of the road or it will be towed

its not like you have any real option to keep it unless you never plan to drive it on the road

No. Front seat windows can't be darker than a certain percentage (not much allowed), but back windows can be as dark as you want.

In basically ever rural parish they don't even check the vehicle, you just pay. Ive always done this back home, so im not sure if you have to do it in the parish you reside in, but if not just drive to a nearby rural parish.

Thanks, we are in East Baton Rouge Parish. Will probably remove the tint on the front driver and passenger windows. It’s so damn dark. I don’t know why anyone would want their windows to be that dark in the first place. Like I said we bought the truck yesterday from someone in Mississippi... it was a previously owned vehicle that we got at a dealership. I was just curious about leniency at different inspection places.

Street price of a sticker in Denham was $35 last year, it was for a friend.

Have a buddy get a sticker for his motorcycle which the attendant will hand the sticker to him and won't apply it to his bike even if it has a windshield. If you don't need the emissions stamp take your boat trailer in for an inspection sticker assuming the lights work. Then place the sticker in your sons truck.

Well that’s not true, I have the tickets from highschool to prove it
