Bought this bad boy two weeks ago. Just got the tax stamp today and picked it up from my local firearm store. Holy shite that was fast.
First one I have ever purchased and I was expecting a 6 month to a year turnaround, not freakin two weeks! I've heard horror stories of it taking well over a year to get one.
Seems they are fast tracking the approval process now. Just a heads up if you were ever in the market

My last 2 took 3 and 4 days.
Took longer to get the paperwork prepared than it did to get approved

I’m hopeful for the same- I have a Banish 22 in last Thursday.
I honestly can’t believe that in 2025 we are having to do this for something that is clearly a safety item and at worst merely a super cool convenience/toy/accessory yet we are playing by almost 100 year old rules designed to curb mob violence.

I'm going on 90 days now, one shot trust
Posted on 2/13/25 at 7:03 am to AuburnTigers
Did yall with the short wait time use a trust?

My last 3 have taken days. Efile/trust

Very nice. I stopped looking at the listed wait times on reddit but back then the trusts were still lagging some.

I'm picking up a huxwrx as soon as my bonus comes in, hoping it's that quick. I still need to form 1 my SBR that is currently not an SBR as it has a pistol brace on it.

I have a quote on one of these with mounts to my 5.56 and .308....I've been waiting on my bonus in April.
Should be set to go for hogs all summer and deer season!
How does it sound on your gun?

Before you buy, also look at Specter Cat.
I have a SC White Bread Ti and it's absolutely incredible and like the Huxwrx, it's low back pressure. Quietest can I have and also one of the lightest (including rimfire cans).
The Huxwrx is a great can in it's own right but just so you know there is another player in the game.

I went down a silencer rabbit hole this am once I wrote my post above....
Basically, Hiram Maxim invented the silencer in 1902- or at least the first commercially available one. Coincidentally, he also developed the muffler (called a silencer then) for cars in parallel as the premise is the same for both devices.
Even Teddy Roosevelt was known to use Maxim's silencers.
Fast forward to the mob days, they want to ban anything and everything associated with mobsters wanting to take out police.
I get it- machine guns, sawed off shotguns, destructive devices, etc. I don't totally agree with it, but I get it.
Fast forward to the FDR's third term, the head of the OSS (now CIA) walks into the oval office and proceeds to shoot at a sandbag with a supressed High Standard in .22 LR. Apparently, nearly a hundred years ago- OSS carried .22 LR pistols. This would have been about 1941 ish. FDR was dictating a letter and never heard Wild Bill Donovan shoot the gun.
Since the mob had tried to assassinate FDR in 1933, and the NFA passed in 1934, and this little Wild Bill stunt happening 7 years later, I'm thinking there was little chance for a long time that politicians would actually accept the fact that supressors would ever have the political climate availble to take the out of the NFA.

Their performance numbers at pewpewresearch are off the charts.
By far the bes can I own (based on how quiet it is).
Put it on my Sig MCX Spear LT and it's the ultimate system. No gas in your face at all (piston driven system) and low back pressure and the can is just stupid light.
I bought it to put on my night hunting gun Radian which is very heavy especially with the thermal sitting on it. It cut almost a lbs of weight compared to the Sandman S I had on it.

It looks like they don’t offer a 30 cal ?

Which one will work with 5.56 and .308?
Posted on 2/17/25 at 10:12 am to The Levee
Any of the 30 cal ones (DD, JL, ODB). CAT does optimize silencers for caliber specific purposes though. They don't do "do-all" silencers. They will work on lower calibers but are not optimized. They are an incredible company. They utilize AI to map the blast propagation of each caliber and host style to make the best designs. If I wanted a do-all silencer from them, I would probably get the ODB. It's short and quiet enough for my purposes. I don't like longer silencers, even though they are quieter. I am ok sacrificing a bit of sound performance to save length, especially for hunting.
