Anyone got any information on this. Just came across my news reel.
“A 15-year-old was killed and five others were injured during a fire at a deer camp, according to Jefferson County authorities.”

The hunting camp is called "SouthSide". All I heard was a 15yr old was killed.

Terrible situation. This is a hunting camp with a LOT of ties to this board. Please be in prayer for the Braddocks and the boys injured. I can't imagine

Yes, know all these families either through our men’s retreat group or through my former high school. Tragic and praying.

Still numb from hearing this two hours ago

I know some people who hunt the Rodney area. When I saw “South Side” I was not familiar with the camp, so I looked it up and saw the Facebook Site pictures looks very family oriented.
Absolutely terrible situation. Praying for the families.

I have shot a lot of deer in my time but my absolute #1 was with my son and Tarver when they were little bitty. I took them to the stand with me late one afternoon, mainly just to get them out of the camp. They watched movies, ate Lil Debbies, giggled and made all kinds of noise. I had zero expectations of seeing any wildlife. Lo and behold before dark a big cull 6pt came out right on top of us. They started chanting 'shoot it, shoot it, shoot it'. So I did. I saw the deer run out there and fall dead, but didn't tell them. I made them get out of the stand and follow the blood trail. I'll never for get the excitement on their faces and hooping and hollering when they found it. I just went back and found the pic and cried like a baby.

Awesome picture and story. ALOT of good times have been had at that camp over the years. As a father of two boys myself, losing one of them is my biggest fear in the world. Words cannot express my sympathies today for the entire Braddock family as well as the other young men there last night.
Lest we not forget Tarver's father was instrumental in setting up the EJW fundraiser held at BDCC back in December of 2013. Brett is as solid a man as they come. Tears are rolling down my face now as I type for this unfathomable loss.

I saw on tRant someone saying that a 16-year-old cousin of Will Campbell was killed in a camp fire in Mississippi. Do you know if this is the same fire?
ETA: Prayers for the family of the young man and anyone injured as well.

Josey didn't want to spend eternity in a coat & tie. The attire he picked out & has on now is a short sleeve Polo pullover & a Braddock Drilling visor.
The Braddocks let us use this camp the last weekend we spent with Josey at Southside in 2013.
Tarver & Josey's daughter were lifelong friends and he was to be her escort to upcoming Neville sorority formal.
Brett is as fine a man as I ever met. My heart aches for him and his family over the loss of his great son.

This thread has me all up in my feels. My heart is breaking for the father that lost his son, I remember the effect burying my little brother had on my Dad. He told me then, “a parent should never have to bury their child”.
Prayers to all involved.

Balls,
I can only imagine what you and others in this family are going through. Words can never bring comfort in this time. Only the Grace of God can eventually bring healing to the whole left in your heart/spirit.
May the Lord wrap his arms around you and all that have suffered loss in this tragedy. As you grieve, may you find healing in your hearts, and may you find strength to move forward day to day. May the Lord Jesus bless you with His presence like you have never known. Amen.

That picture brought me to tears I have boys that age and a ton of friends kids are in the same group.
