Anyone use the Dinovite supplement for their dogs?

licking….Blue Heeler
Nothing stopped it for mine…but scratching wasn’t an issue. Can’t hurt to try. Or a better kibble.

My dog was itching, scratching incessantly.A friend suggested it could be red dye allergy,I switched him to Purina One with no dye. After about a week he quit scratching.

The majority of allergy problems are food related. Try a different food like lamb and rice first.

We tried it b/c of paw licking, and didn't see much difference. Right now the pollen is out of control so there's not much help out there.

Homemade dog food for the win. It's a little work but well worth it for dogs with allergies. One of my boxers had it so bad all her hair was falling out. Tried all the expensive foods and nothing helped.
We tried about a month on homemade for and all her hair came back and she stopped all the scratching and chewing.

Go with a salmon based food. Dogs with itches do better with fish as the protein.

What's your homemade dog food recipe? I have a freeze dryer, so that gives me some more options.
Seriously considering it.

Older shepherd responded well after changing her food to grain-free from tractor supply/walmart. She preferred chicken but they have other flavors.
We also added a NuVet vitamin daily for her as well as for the younger dogs.
Vitamin ingredients:

Tried it years ago. My dogs wouldn’t eat it. And the “lick-o-Chops” stuff they send you to help get the dogs to eat it looked like regular old chicken grease. I wouldn’t waste my time if I were you.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Our recipe is pretty simple and lasts about a month.
3 Sam's Club rotisserie chickens (they are $5 ea)
Two pounds par boiled rice
12 pounds cooked sweet potatoes
two heads cabbage
1 bag of apples
1 case ea. (flat) canned veg as follows
black eyed peas
carrots
french style green beans
mixed vegetables
kidney beans
4 cans of petite diced tomatoes
We shred the chicken apart and cook what's left down into a broth to cook the rice in (we just microwave the rice).
We chop the sweet potatoes in quarters and throw in the electric pressure cooker (about 20 minutes). Then chop up the cabbage and apples and cook that in the pressure cooker about 10 minutes.
I have two huge pans like you would fry a turkey in that we mix everything together in once it's cooled. Make sure you drain the canned vegetables (I don't rinse mine but some do). When mixing, we usually split everything into two equal batches just to make mixing easier. When mixing we pour a half a quart of vegetable oil into each batch.
We use the par boiled rice just because it doesn't stick together. We buy our canned vegetables at Aldi, they are usually the cheapest on canned vegetables. We buy the sweet potatoes at one of those cost plus gro stores along with the cabbage and apples.
We used to use 3 bags of the chicken leg/thigh quarters but during the pandemic those got a little expensive and we discovered the Sam's chickens for $5 that are already cooked.
We bought some of those 16oz containers from Amazon. We package and freeze it in those. Set two out the day before, micro for 3 minutes and you're ready to serve.
In the spring/summer we'll throw chopped up zucchini and squash from the garden in when we cook the cabbage and apples. They love it.
It's a little work but well worth it. Like I said, all of the itching went away and their coats are very shiny. I have two pure boxers and a Heinz 57 variety poodle mix. Boxers are well known for their allergies and mine absolutely love it.

I’ve always thought it was a scam marketing campaign. Ask your vet, they will know.
