For planting?
Old box springs & iron grating work the easiest

4x4 section of chain link fence; secure a 5 ft. T-post to the front and back (with wire); then add some weight with cinder blocks near the front.

To cover the seed back over. Dont have a old box spring handy right now.

Don't overthink it. I made one last year with a piece of chainlink fence zip tied to two pieces of black iron pipe same length front and back. Hardest part is evenly distributing weight. I zip tied a few cinder blocks on top. Make a triangle to hitch with rope, tie the loop knot first and then tie off either end to the corners last so it will be even and it wont pull one way or the other.

Storm drain grate for the win. My dad kept them all when they re built the culvert system and replaced them. Perfect weight

I use an old cattle panel with a big chunk of angle iron strapped on top of it. Works great

We speakin the same language
Get the big arse zip ties

and hog wire works just the same if you can't find a single piece of chainlink or it's expensive, you can even bend the wire down a bit around the pipe at the end if you want it to dig in

What I'm talking about is $22 at Tractor Supply

But any of the above will work too...

The one and only time I bought chain link fence at the box store. The smallest quantity was a 50' roll. A prefab chain link gate is cheaper than a 50' roll of fence.

Made one this weekend, 6x6 section of chain link, zip tied a heavy 6' piece of old drill pipe to the back, took a 6' 2x4 (to keep it from flipping) and drilled holes close to each end, ran a cable through the holes, then weaved through the fence and made a slip to put over the hitch ball. worked pretty good, might add a tPost on top the fence to give it some weight

Two pallets from behind wal mart screwed together with some 2x4's . . .

All you need is a Machete, a 10' piece of rope and a gum tree top.
Pretty sure I don't need to explain any further than that.

Buy some chain length fence and cut it up and have it drag the ground and put some weight on the front of it from dragging

Just pull a gate off your neighbors cyclone fence, use it then put back when done.

This... if you have some old weights or dunbells, that works also.

So ended up going with the cattle gaurd due to it being more heavy duty. I have some dozer tracts I am going to use for weight. Is it better to distribute weight evenly or have it in the front of the drag?

Take a 4x4 and roll the 4x4 one or two time and then strap the 4x4 and chain link fence all together super tight. Screw 2 Eye bolts into fence on opposite ends. Get some wire rope run through eye bolts and to hitch on 4 wheeler. Run another 4x4 on back end and strap down keep tools with you and extra crimps. Works great
