Broke my falcon rod a few weeks ago and remember Academy exchanging them without a receipt. Do they still do this?

I don't think they'll take Falcons back.

I have a broke one on my porch right now I bought from Cabela's. I know they won't take them back. I heard Falcon got stricter on their return policy so most stores aren't taking them back, but will print out Falcon's customer service number for you.

Yeah, until it was abused by individuals like yourself. Look at your situation and tell me why you think it should warrant a return/exchange.

Your such a hardass man.
My situation is this. I bought a Falcon from Academy last summer. The policy used to be that they would exchange them if broken. It should warrant a return/exchange because it is the policy from Falcon. I have returned 1 rod (OMG DUDE SERIOUS ABUSE)

Falcon's policy is replace if it has a manufacturer defect. Did the rod break due to a defect or accident?

Cork handle broke clean off under the reel when I set the hook on a fish. Used to be no questions asked when exchanging them. Guy at Acadcemy said they still exchange them for any reason, you just have to ship the rod to Falcon.

Better to ship it to Falcon & have it replaced then having to buy a new rod.

Can you break it more? a 6'6'' Box would be an interesting shipping cost.

I may just buy a new one. Looking at the new Falcon Coastal rods. Anyone use these?

Yeah, shipping one piece rods is costly.
I only use the "originals", but if you go with the HD let me know how you like them.

Ive also only used the originals. Love the action and feel of the Falcon lineup. Will either go with another original for my new Curado or the new coastal series (look and feel great after playing with one in academy)

ironically, I called Academy td (the one on Siegen in BR) asking them about there return policy on rods. I had the string that attaches the eye on one of my allstars I bought about 5yrs ago there unwrap from the road. I still have the receipt for it and they told me to bring it in and that theyll give me a new one.

I think its depends alot on the store manager. I have heard stories about the academy in Lafayette being stricter on rod returns.

I went to the one on Airline and they told me to send it to Falcon. Gonna try Siegen tomorrow.
