I currently have a F-150 short bed with a boonedox t-bone bed extender to carry my PA14. I am picking up a new 2019 outback this weekend and I am looking for ideas on how to transport both without having to buy a trailer. Does anyone have a setup for transporting multiple kayaks without a trailer?

turn them on their side and strap them down

I've hauled 3 kayaks in my short bed Tacoma with a bed extender just fine

I bought a cheap contractors ladder rack for my truck. I hauled my kayak up top and could put gear and another yak in the bed. Heres an old picture of it

Have hauled 3, including a massive Hobie, in a truck bed at the same time. Just fit them in there any way you can and strap them to something.

Put the new kayak upside-down on top of the Hobie and strap together using your T-boone extender.

I'm pretty sure the PA & Outback can be stacked, with the PA on the bottom. Or atleast I believe that was the case with previous Outback models, not sure about the 2019 though.

Fast forward to 4:40. LINK

This is why I hate stuff sticking up from my yaks.

not to high-jack, but I am looking at buying a new kayak that I will have to transport on top of my 2015 4runner. My factory rails do not have crossbars. What's my best options? I will be loading and unloading it by myself.

You have options from all the rack manufactures, thule and yakima are the top two. Get some crossrails and a rack or just do like the FJ I saw this morning on the way to work. Just put a towel down on the roof and ratchet strap them to the roof

This looks what I might have to do. I usually transport the PA14 with the chair and hobie crate attached, so I will need to store them now.
