Roof of my SUV was 375. That's with them removing and installing the rack.

Also consider the weight of the material and that your boat would sit a little lower in the water and lose engine performance and planing dynamics.

Is the line-x that much heavier than the carpet it would be replacing?

From what I can tell Line-X weighs 0.7 lbs/ft^2 when applied at 1/8-in thickness.

Lets assume your boat is a rectangle 17 ft x 7.5 ft = 127.5 ft^2. More of a barge, but whatever, it will account for some of the coating you'll have on vertical surfaces.

So, (127.5 ft^2)(0.7 lbs/ft^2) = ~90 lbs.

Even if your carpet is weightless, I don't think 90 lbs will make a difference.

If it does, just leave my fat whore of a wife at the camp next time you go out, and you'll more than make up for it.

Hydro turf is a much better alternative and will not get hard/slick. Peel and stick after prep with alcohol.

Agree with Kemo. Hydra Turf is much better option. Taking your own carpet out is the easy part. Removing the glue ain't no joke. I paid 1,500 for glue removal, repaint interior, hydraturf and installation in my 18' xpress last year.

It's not. Very cool to the feet. OP, it is a very easy DIY job. You just have to get all glue off first. A air compressor and a chop gun. Tape off what you don't want sprayed and just spray it. A good build up, easy 2 gallons. Less then $250 and the best part, you can get just about any color you want. Goggle rubber coatings for boats.

I had it done, and regret it. It's too rough on bare feet and knees. I'm going back to carpet.

How many gallons would it take to do the whole boat? Simply put x number of gallons in your boat. You and your boat will not notice.
