Favorite deer stand type and height for bow or rifle hunting

I have regular hang ons with fold down seats, single ladder stands, double ladder stands, a lock on with a swiviling boat seat, a 10ft tripod stand, a primos ground blind, and a few homemade box stands/ or low platform stands.
I like the versitility of the smaller hang-ons with the big game tree steps. I can usually get up to 16-20 feet with this set but have to sape the steps out a bunch.

Box Stand, over a death lane...20Ft up, 4 windows, 1 heater, 1 Rifle, 4 Bullets.
Self Climber, 20 Ft up, No Heater, Rifle/Bow. Oak flat.

API climber. Height depends on many things such as understory and first large limb. I have two lock ons with multiple types of steps, but I rarely use them because I almost never hunt the same tree twice.

This is my bow stand:
1 box stand is 18' tall, 4'x6'
the other is 12' tall, 4x4

This
Might be the wrong strategy but I am guilty!

For doe hunting I like a box stand 12-16' high.
For dog hunting I like a felled log about arse high, out of the water. Somewhere I can swivel around on cause you never know which directions they'll be coming from.

Not allowed to hunt collared dogs.

For a windy morning I like the box stand we built the best, but for the most part Iblike the 2 man buddy ladder stands. Never hunt 2 people but I like the extra room. 2 of ours we built roofs over and they're great. Build an DDT see seat with a peice of plywood and some cushion and it feels like a lazy boy
I don't hunt climbers as much,
But they're the next on my list.

Ladder/Climber. Never been a fan of box stands.

That is correct the shooting of a collared dog is strictly for self defense or in defense if repeated damage to your property.
Looks like I need to try a climber. Why are they so much better? Dont they require a large amount of limb cutting each time you go up a tree?

Box Stand, over SEVERAL death lanes (or a clearing) 4 windows with thick felt curtains (paper machine belt felt), no heater, 1 rifle and at least 5 bullets.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz
Just thinking about it makes me want to take a nap.
OR
Ladder stand with camo cloth all around and with a fresh set of bamboo tied around the sides.
No sleeping there . . . prefer not to die.

Gotta have my heater to stay nice and warm...plus it cooks excellent.

They're better IMO because mid season you can hunt an area from a completely different side or hunt a new area without any stands already there, without disturbing the woods as much as you would moving stands. You can also hunt a spot on a whim.
They do take time to find your tree, trim any branches, get to the right height and settle in, etc. You get faster with practice but I don't have much, and that's the main reason I don't hunt them very often. I like a wide seat so I can adjust my arse around from time to time
Just my opinion, others may have different reasons

You would have to see me in mine, but I feel so much safer. You kinda sit down in it. I've fallen asleep several times and you just can't fall out.
They are way more portable. Like I said-I never hunt the same tree twice in a row. Easy to pack because you just have 2 pieces that nest together.
I do not cut limbs because that's forbidden where I hunt. I just have to find a good tree to climb.

I prefer hunting boxstands to stay comfortable so you can stay in the stand longer. No one really bow hunts on our piece of property, so we stick to boxstands.
This one is called the "condo" and is 4x8 and about 20 feet to the roof. My uncle built it in 1990 I believe and over 100 deer have been killed out of it. Once the ladder rotted off, he boxed in the whole thing and put a fiberglass ladder and a trap door in the bottom. Pretty cool.
Here's my stand we built 2 seasons ago. 7 deer have been taken from it so far. It's also 4x8 and about 13 feet to the roof. It's also carpeted with 2 office chairs, shelves, and a heater.

I use a ground blind mostly. Hunt in open pasture with The fencelines grown up, and set up on top of a hill with good view all around. Great for when the kids come hunting with me. But plan to get a few ladder stands before this season.
