Headed to Pigeon Forge for baseball tournament. The Hotel we are staying at is on the parkway and is next to the west prong little pigeon river. Planning on bringing a couple ultralights and soft egg baits. Worth my time? Fishing license is $60 for 10 days.

I don't know if it's worth your time but generally people fly fish through there for stocked trout.

You'd have to go look and see when/where/if it was stocked by TWRA.

Haven't fished it in about 20 years but it was good then...gets some pressure but stockers so they all get pressure. I imagine there are some holdover fish....there ought to be in that area....

not fishing as originally posted, but after being to several of the Cal Ripken baseball tourneys in Pigeon Forge I would definitely recommend taking your son/team to the "sinks" and jump off the rock ledge there.

and go hike "Midnight Hole" and swim and jump there too.

Amazing views in nature, and Free Fun for the day. Great way to spend the day in the Smoky Mountains. Your son/team will remember that much more than the baseball games I can assure you.

I don't know about ultralights, but can give you some tips on west prong in the park for fly fishing.

Fly fishing the chimneys area is one of my favorite places to fish.

There are a lot of decent pools right at the base of the chimneys trailhead to fish the west prong. Its all non native bows right there.

A good day of fishing is parking at the trailhead and walking back through the tunnel and sliding down the mountain when you feel comfortable and fishing back to the trailhead and then following the trail up road prong to bridge 3 and fishing to bridge 5 I believe. It's all native brookies through there. Really good eating tiny fish.

Heat of summer, I usually go yellow sally or parachute sulphur with a tellico nymph or golden stonefly dropper.

Smallmouth and some nice trout between pigeon forge and Gatlinburg.
But don’t eat anything below gatlinburg.
Read the warning signs. Raw sewage and the fish are contaminated.
The fish there are wise.
Bite best the last hour of daylight
