Anyone own one? I am looking specially at the G3 Bay 18. Any reviews on G3 boats would be much obliged.

I sea trialed an 18ft CC in a little chop and it was pretty rough riding. I ended up going with the new Lowe 20 Bay with a Merc 150 and couldn't be happier.

We had a 2006 DLX1750 (I think that's the one)...great little boat. Rides a little rough/wet in chop, but it is a flat bottomed aluminum hull, so can't expect it to ride that great. Also, seating position was a bit odd, but they may have changed that. Overall, very durable boat. We sold it to my uncle probably 5 or 6 years ago and he re powered it and still fishes it 3 or 4 days a week.

This is mine. I love it. A little rough in a chop. But if you want a big CC....go fiberglass. Runs right at 40mph. Great on gas.

Are you looking at the 18 Bay or 18 Bay DLX? I'm looking at that one myself. Has a better layout than the Xpress.

What are the main differences between the 18 and 18 dlx?

Watch out for the water come pouring in when coming off step to a stop. I sea trialed one, and the arse end would swamp every time. Ended up getting a Xpress. Sold that and went glass. If going in bays, glass is best... Just my 2 cents

junk. stay away.
my transom is eaten up because they decided to use treated plywood in it and the saltwater reacted with the chemicals in the wood.
excel or xpress ftw.

yeah, but what year is it? I don't think any of the companies use wood anymore.

Purchased new Bay18 DLX June of 2014 had paint peeling problems on the bottom. Dealer swapped hull, then it happend a second time. Contacted G3 said they had primer issues. Long story short got a second hull swap 1 year newer little better design and a Power Pole Pro ll for my troubles. Paint fine now and other than that great boat w/Yamaha 115 LB model.

It's a glorified bateau. No V and low as sides. Go to old Lobells on airline hwy and get them to make you a hull.

I know this is an old post, I'm curious I have the same boat, what's the max speed you have seen? And what prop?
I'm running a ofs3 power tech prop 19" getting wot52mph still hitting 6000rpm.

Chiropractors, orthopedists and neurosurgeons everywhere endorse aluminum hull bay boats.

Go Xpress HB18, my son has the 20 ft model with 150 Yammy. Very versitile rig.

Why would you go from your xpress to the G3? IMO it's a step down. While they may have a better layout it's still going to ride horrible like the xpress do.
What happened to going to a glass bay boat?

I'm constantly searching for a used 17-18 G3 or express CC, I have about $11k saved up. Pretty sure that's all I do at work.
