Trying to decide if the CC is worth it. I have a long run to get to the blind and would use the boat for fishing a lot too. Don't really ever hunt out of the boat so the loss of space isn't that big of a problem. Any pros/cons over the tiller? How does is handle in a few inches of water when you need to work the motor to get out? Is it a pain with the steering wheel option??

I've been in some pretty long runs with a tiller surface drive and they will wear you out
I don't know what your budget is, but a cc is nice to have

If you like to sit down and have a beer while riding get the CC. In the mud you just trim down and let the hydro steering do the work.
The tiller you always have to be holding on and the boat has to be loaded level or it will be a pain to drive.

You should buy Redfish's GTR. He doesn't use it anymore

That's gon b 10 licks, boy
Get the cc. Nothing worse than holding a big vibrator for a long time. It's not going to have the ability to shake out of mud like a tiller. My theory is to not go looking for mud runs, but have the surface drive for when you get into a sticky situation.

I need the room to hunt, so tiller is what I'm going with. I'm looking at the twist throttle GTR for the boat I'm building. Anybody have any input on this aspect?
Sorry for the possible hijack, Old..

What kind of range do you Gator Tail owners get on 12 gallons?

Make sure you get hydraulic steering. I've literally destroyed my shoulder running tiller handles..
